CEO, Kenspeco Ltd.
Lyela is currently a senior at Lewis University who will graduate in December with a B.S. in Aviation Administration and a minor in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). She has spent the last summer learning the basics of using a Multispectral sensor while interning with MicaSense. After her graduation, Lyela plans to gain more hands-on experience with remote sensing while perfecting her coffee cupping skills and eventually attaining her Q grading certification. Afterwards, she plans on using Unmanned Aircraft Systems to help save Kenya’s coffee industry and to help coffee farmers around the world. Lyela has been involved in both the coffee and UAS industry since 2015. In 2017, she helped the Kenyan Government plan and exhibit at the Global Specialty Coffee Expo. That year, she also received two publications; one from thedronegirl.com and a second from Drone360 Magazine. This is Lyela’s third year attending the World Drone Expo. One day, she would like to educate coffee experts at the Global Specialty Coffee Expo’s Re;Co symposium on the benefits of implementing UAS in coffee farming.
