MAPPS Geospatial Sessions -

Add this specialized programming to your registration when you sign up at droneworldexpo.com.

When Part 107 rules were put into effect in 2016, this ushered in the first-ever commercial use of UAS in the United States. The number and nature of applications to which professionals and enthusiasts have discovered and applied these technologies has been nothing short of astounding. And the growth rate and pace of innovation is still increasing. As with most new technological bursts of innovation, much is lost and gained when practitioners don't understand the rules, technology, limitations, or business models. The MAPPS session will present a series of discussions from geospatial firms that have been deploying UAS for mapping purposes throughout the country, and in the global market, and will present the good, the bad, and the ugly of real applications of drones for remote sensing and mapping applications.

SPEAKERS:
Jason Heywood, Director of Business Development, DroneView Technologies
Brian Raber, Vice President, Merrick Company
Mike Tully, President & CEO, Aerial Services, Inc.

PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS:

Debuting at Drone World Expo 2017:

sUAS for Inspections, presented by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide
(Monday, October 2, 2017, 9am – 5pm PST)

This in-depth workshop will introduce and familiarize students with inspections utilizing sUAS. Critical to an efficient flight operation and data collection is understanding sUAS regulations, the need for aviation safety, pre- and post-flight planning, maintenance, and communications.  These factors are essential to planning and conducting safe inspection operations and developing mission profiles for an organization.  Organizations integrating sUAS operations for inspection operations should understand the intricacies of these factors as they prepare, integrate or evolve with an sUAS plan.  All those who complete the workshop will receive CEUs from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.  Includes lunch and refreshments on the workshop day.  More information...

Public Safety Training Workshop, presented by AMA, DJI and Fly-Robotics
(Monday, October 2, 2017, 9am -12pm and 1pm-4pm PST)

Drones provide an aerial perspective on emergencies that was previously expensive, dangerous or simply impossible to obtain, and public safety agencies have expressed a clear need for more guidance and training to begin putting this new technology to work.

Join AMA, DJI, and Fly-Robotics for this specialized public safety workshop at Drone World Expo!

Admission to this workshop is included with your Drone World Expo conference pass but you must RSVP to dawn@jdevents.com to attend.
